Les Bicyclettes Blanches
(ITA): Les Bicyclettes Blanches è una band proveniente da Woodstock (Stato di New York) attiva dal 2005. Il gruppo è nato su iniziativa di Magnolia Santibanez (voce, chitarra, basso, tastiere) e Mackenzie Miller Parker (batteria, chitarra e basso). Subito hanno iniziato a collaborare con altri musicisti per i live e le sessioni di registrazioni; in particolare la loro strada si è intrecciata con quella di Paul McMahon, Amanda Jo Williams, Stanton Warren, Ash Humhey, Sean Finnigan. Hanno sinora registrato 12 album. Air è il titolo dell’ultimo album. Uscito come autoproduzione nel febbraio del 2013, la band ha previsto la reissue per il 4 dicembre via Som Non-Label. Il disco è il risultato della rivistazione di vecchio materiale, collaborando con altri artisti, e l’aggiunta di nuovo materiale. Il suono della band è definito ma vario: la bella voce di Magnolia Santibanez impatta le atmosfere di derivazione post-punk e punk miscelate alle strutture folk.
(ENG): The band Les Bicyclettes Blanches formed in the summer of 2005, in Woodstock NY, in a barn of an old mill turned into a Native American ceremonial center, blessed by Tibetan monks. The core of the band is Magnolia Santibanez (vocals/guitar/bass /keys), from Paris (France) and Mackenzie Miller Parker (drums/guitar/bass) from the Catskills. Soon they started to collaborate with other musicians for their live shows and recording sessions as Paul McMahon, Amanda Jo Williams, Stanton Warren, Ash Humhey, Sean Finnigan and a few others they have encountered on their tours of the US and Europe. They have so far recorded 12 albums and can be heard on some radios stations as well as a few compilations from LA Record, Manimal Vinyl, and Winter Records. Air is the title of the last album. Out on February 2013, the band has scheduled the reissue on December 4 via Som Non-Label. This album is an experiment revisiting old songs and bringing in new artists, as well as new material. The sound of the band is well-defined but various: the beautiful voice of Magnolia Santibanez meets post-punk and punk atmosphere mixed with folk-oriented structure.
