Ummagma
ITA Ummagma è un duo per metà canadese e per metà ucraino formato da Alexander Kretov (suona gli strumenti, canta, arrangia, compone) e Shauna Mclarnon (voce, composizioni e testi): l’incontro fra due culture che ha portato ad un’esplorazione ed una ricerca musicale che si è riversata nei due album di debutto Ummagma e Antigravity, che potete entrambi ascoltare sulla loro pagina bandcamp. E’ difficoltoso inquadrarli in uno specifico campo musicale: l’eleganza dall’elettronica fra ambient e retaggi dream-pop e post-punk, le elaborate trame del post-rock, richiami alla scena anni ’80. Un suono diversificato ma fluido che crea un’atmosfera che fa emergere una sensibilità artistica di grande spessore.

It’s not easy to label their music: there’s the grace of electronics with ambient and dream-pop features, recall of post-punk culture, elaborate post-rock weave. A diversified but fluid sound that it is capable to produce prodigious atmospheres.
